As I mentioned in my previous post I was spending a couple of days with Lea and on day 26 we decided to do a spot of baking. First though we went to her Asda which has escalators. This excites me and it is like the TARDIS and is bigger on the inside. We decided to make rice crispy treats :)
Day 25 was again spent at work...however with 26 off I decided to take a little road trip to see the sister Lea in Leeds, she has a blog too called It's Such A Wonderful Life
After receiving my results we decided to celebrate with a glass of wine, or 3!
Sorry I have been absent I spent a boring day 22 at work followed by an agonising day off on 23 and that is because at midnight (so technically day 24) my results for university were being published. Now, this was the big one, the determines what degree level you get kind of results and today I have spent my time at work and then dance for the second night!
My results were published and at 00:05 on the 24th June 2013 I received a Lower Second Bachelor of Science honours degree in Forensic Psychology
It is safe to say that I am relieved and my graduation date is Friday 12th July 2013 (also the day Monsters University is out in cinemas in the UK, very apt I think!)
Anyway I will be off to Leeds tomorrow till Thursday so I wont post until then!!
So I finally had a day off! I decided to have a play with some new products I found in the month of June. I used Collection 200 Cream Puff in Cotton Candy its like a matte cream colour for your lips, benefit stay don't stray primer for under my concealer, the new Decléor BB Cream with SPF 15 and Hydra Floral and The Elf Bronzer Blush due in St Lucia which is supposed to be a good dupe for NARS Orgasm and Laguna bronzer.
As I mentioned in an earlier Snap day I have been trying to drink more green tea and water, which I find easier at work than at home! So I decided to make water more interesting, by putting it in a fun cup! I know I am like a child but hey it works! I picked this one up from ASDA for a couple of pounds
After doing one of those horrible 6am shifts I came home, put my comfys on and tried to find something to watch. Most of (If not all) of my favourite tv shows air around autumn winter time apart from 1, True Blood. I had completely forgotten it was back for season 6 and quickly found the first episode.
So Day 17 started early, I mean EARLY. I was on the early shift at work which means I have to start at 6am so my first alarm went of at 4:30 followed by 4:50 to make sure I was up! With starting my day this early I really needed a kick, I don't like coffee and don;t drink it unless I do an early in which case I have this, an espresso
I had a couple of these because not only did my day start early with a 7/8 hr shift I then proceeded to go to dance class from 7pm till 9:45 (I threw in a short intervals workout after work too, mental I am!) I always take a travel (Disney) mug with tea to work and top up with (Cinderella) cups of green tea throughout the day. Now I am sooo tired and my feet are sore from 2 evenings of dance and I am probably rambling incoherently!
So today is Fathers Day! I spent the morning with my Dad who made me breakfast and then I spent the afternoon with my Granddad, a very Dad day! I thought for this snap I would share a picture I posted to my instagram with 4 little pictures of me and my Dad.
Top Left: This is me and my Dad in the garden of the old house, this bonnet I am wearing I apparently wore all the fecking time judging by other baby photos......not a flattering accessory!!
Top Right: This is me, my brother and my Dad in Disneyland Paris in front of Skull Rock and Captain Hook's ship in Feb 2003
Bottom Right: Me and my Dad (And that bonnet!!!!) in the garden again, apparently it was sunny more when I was little
Bottom left: Family picture on Big Thunder Mountain from the trip to Disneyland in 12003, my brother is the one ducking next to my Dad and I am sat with my mum
I want to wish my Dad and all the Dad's out there a Happy Father's Day and Dad, I love you loads!! <3
Recently I went to the little cinema across the road from my Dad's, it's called The Palace Cinema Longridge. We went to go and see The Great Gatsby which is a new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Debicki, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher directed by Baz Lurman director of Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet. I really like Lurman's previous films his style is beautiful, he likes to mix things up like setting Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in modern day but keeping the same script and language and in Moulin Rouge adding modern music to the 1900 backdrop. In Gatsby Lurman has put the work by F. Scott Fitzgerald with music combining Jazz with more hip hop and modern music, this doesn't sound like it will work but oddly it does!
I have not read the book so didn't really know what to expect, Gatsby appeared to live this fine life and through wild parties each week but nobody saw him. DiCaprio plays the title role and plays it really well, he seemed to have like a catchphrase or saying that he said all the time "Old Sport" and he lived in this beautiful HUGE house with a little cottage next door which is where Maguire's character lives and who is the cousin of Daisy (Mulligan) who is married to Edgerton's Character who is sleeping with Fisher's character and Debicki is friends with Daisy. This film is about love, lies and living for the moment. In the roaring twenties, full of wild nights and jazz music, the costumes, make up and sets were just so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes of the screen! I really enjoyed this film and might even give the book a read!
Here is the trailer

P.S Did anyone spot Mr Lurman in the film? Keep your eyes peeled!!!
So day 14 spent in work however I have been trying to drink less normal tea, I mean like a good old Tetley because I like a weak milky tea and I have far too many of them!! I decided to try different flavours recently and I have become rather obsessed.....at the moment I am currently loving this one by The London Tea Company which is organic white tea elderflower. I love it its like summer in a mug!
So after doing a late shift at work I was up for the dentist for my 8:30am appointment (MADNESS!!!!) and with another day spent at work I thought I would light a candle and have a nice cup of tea when I came in. I picked this Yankee Candle in Lavender, ylang-ylang and geranium for £2.99 at Home Sense in Barton Square Trafford Centre when I went on Monday with my Mum. I love Lavender and relaxing scents and this smells amazing to me so I burnt it for 30 mins before bed and I am burning it now as I type!
Sorry I haven't really posted much apart from these little snaps but I just can't seem to stay awake long enough to finish these! Woopsie!! Anyway I thought I would play catch up now! So day 12 I spent at work (what a surprise!) but every other night or so I have been trying to watch an episode of Game Of Thrones as it has been recommended to me. I finished season 1 and I am not like obsessive about it like I am Once Upon A Time but I did enjoy it and will try to watch season two. Have any of you guys seen this show? What did you think?
Hello Lovelies! So recently I have been somewhat obsessed with all things Oz! Seeing Wicked in London, the new Oz film from Disney and the release of Urban Decays palettes for Glinda and Theodora.
Let's start with Wicked. Wicked is a West End and Broadway show about the witches of Oz before the arrival of Dorothy (towards the end of the show its where the film The Wizard of Oz starts and goes through) It looks at the developed friendship between the witches during their time at school, to meeting the wizard, falling for a guy and finding out who they are.
I love a good musical and Wicked is not exception! The most heard song from the show would probably be Defying Gravity but another one of my favourites is Popular which can be found here:
And if you don't know what Defying Gravity sounds like, here give it a listen!
Oz The Great and Powerful is a new film by Disney starring James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis.
Image from here It follows Oscar Diggs 'Oz' has he performs in his travelling show as a trickster and a con and to escape from a very annoyed scary man he jumps into a hot air balloon. When there is a Tornado, that just a smart idea isn't it! Anyway in his little hot air balloon Oz is whisked away to the magical land of....Oz! He first meets a beautiful young witch called Theodora the Good, played by Mila Kunis and she asks if he is the Wizard that her father (the king) and prophacised would come and restore peace and happiness to the land of Oz! AS Oz is a circus Magician and trickster and learns of the riches he will get he says yes he is. So he lies because he wants lots of gold.
Images from here and here Theodora accompanies Oz down that famous yellow brick road to the Emerald City and they meet Finley, a little flying monkey on the way! Finley is adorable and quite funny, after Oz saves him from a lion he makes a life oath to serve him and that's when Oz reveals who he really is and makes him promise not to reveal it!
Image from here The sets and backdrops in this film are amazing, so colourful and beautiful you can kind of get lost in it all! Obviously there is a bad guy (well bad girl!) that must be defeated and he learns of this during his travel and whilst in the Emerald City. He also meets Theodora's sister Evanora who is played by Rachel Weisz (let's just point out that I love her) and her dress (well dresses, they change colour!) is just to die for! She is more sceptical of Oz as it appears Theodora is head over heels for him!
Image from here Oz decides to go and face this Wicked Witch and on his journey to the dark forest he encounters a little china girl who's village has been ransacked by the wicked witch's flying (rather freaky and scary) baboons. He glues her back together and she joins him and Finley to the dark forest where they encounter Glinda The Good Witch of the South played by Michelle Williams (I adored her performance as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn). Now he (OZ) has only heard one story about the king's passing and the Wicked Witch and Glinda offers him a different one. At this point if I was Oz I would be a little confused! However Glinda takes him to a little village with her castle and he again claims to be the wizard (after travelling by bubble which looked like a lot of fun, and again flying over Oz was just amazing) however Glinda knows the truth and he still says he will try to help them.
Image from here Even though himself, Glinda and Finley know he is just a trickster, he utilises his con knowledge to help defeat the Wicked Witch.
Image from here Insert a big "battle" esqe chunk of film which I wont spoil for you and then I would probably say (as it is a Disney film!) and they all lived happily ever after but....I'm gonna let you find out for yourselves! Here is the trailer for Oz the Great and Powerful
Needless to say it is a Disney film so I loved it regardless! The sets were beautiful and I really felt like I could get lost in this magical land of Oz, the costumes and make up for all the witch's in the film were gorgeous, which leads on the next part......
To tie into the release of the film Urban Decay brought out two palettes one for Theodora and one for Glinda. I recently bought the Glinda palate as these colours appealed to me more! The colours in this palette are speckled in glitter and reflects and are very very girly! The shadows in the palette are full size with a duo shade. As with all Urban Decay shadows I have used they are bendable and highly pigmented, although they do fall out more than others I have tried. I love this palette and using the get the look card it comes with recreated the Glinda look (with a little help from Pixiwoo! check out her tutorial here! you can also find the Theodora palate tutorial here and Evanora here)
The Glinda Palette - the six shades are (top left to bottom right) Tornado (vibrant purple shimmer), Aura duo shade (iridescent white with blue shift/ iridescent white with red shift), Magic (pinkish purple with a golden shimmer), Illusion (pale peach satin), Oz duo shade (gold with gold glitter, silver with silver glitter), South (warm pale grey with silver micro-glitter). The eyeliner for this palette is a travel-size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Purple (Rockstar) and the Super-Saturated high gloss lip colour is in Glinda (Naked in the permanent collection)
(Swatch Top to Bottom: South, Oz duo, Illusion, Magic, Aura duo, Tornado)
I love Urban Decay products I find that their eyeshadows to be quite pigmented and soft blendable and easy to work with. They do move a little on the eye but I have always used their Primer potion to stop this and I like it, it works for me. There can be some fall out with these products but a little clean up doesn't hurt! All in all I love this palate! Normaly I stick to neutral shades so would have gone for the Theodora palate but I am so glad that I chose Glinda's!
And here ends my very long post on all things Oz that I have been loving!
So on Day 11 me and some friends went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach which is a 20/30 min drive from my house and is a theme park. There are rides which I have been going on since I was little as my mum is from Blackpool and we used to go every year. I just thought I would share these two snaps with you, the first one is of the girls I went with from left to right it is Ashleigh, Lizi and Helen.
So today is the day of birthday's! My Mum's birthday is today and I took her to the Trafford Centre in Manchester for tea and a facial at Decléor in John Lewis. It is also my blogs birthday!! It's 1 today and I would like to thank everyone for their support and following and comments it really means a lot and of course Lea over at Such A Wonderful Life for making me start the blog.
